As many of you know my house burnt down Saturday night with me, Kaydan and a friend of mine in it.
What I can tell you is… burns HURT! The fire started at the wood stove… I was in my room and by the time I saw smoke and opened the door the ceiling looked like a lake of fire. I yelled for my company and I ran into Kaydans room to get him. There was so much smoke in there I had to duck to see him asleep on his bed. I snatched him up and ran him outside. I remember being afraid his hair was gonna catch fire. On the way out of the house I received 1st 2nd & 3rd degree burns to my arm, back, neck and head.
I feel blessed that we all made it out relatively unhurt. Kaydan got a small burn on his ankle; but is doing fine. The house burnt completely to the ground with all of our possessions in it!
All of our immediate needs have been met in large part by Larry D. Bluford Jr., and the church’s involved with Operation THUGS, as well as my friends and family. I thank all of you! Both myself and my landlord were uninsured so the house is a complete loss.
Vacant property has been offered to our family to rebuild. Now we just need to put a house on it! We appreciate your donations. Our goal is to be able to afford a small home or a modular.
